I spent a little time sewing last week and threw together the curtains for my back hall door. Since Kelly and Jeremy are still living here, I have the use of her Rowenta iron that she got for a shower gift. What an iron! I'm going to ask Santa for one this year ...
Anyone who knows me knows I have a thing for fabric. There are drawers and bins all over the house chock-full of yummy fabric from every era. If "someday" never comes (and I'm hoping it does!), my kids and grand kids will inherit quite a stash. Back in March I posted about several fabric choices I was considering. You can read about it
here. Ultimately I decided to rework old cotton curtains from the 1940s to fit my small back hall door.

Notice the scalloped edge. Some dear soul did that tedious work by hand. Each stitch is carefully placed and I imagine she used an old juice glass as a pattern for her curves. That's what I'd have done. It was easy peasy to cut them to length and sew a rod pocket. What do you think?

I don't remember when or where I got these sweet curtains, but I've had them tucked away for
years for such a time as this. Having curtains on this door does block light but I think the privacy is more important. I wish I'd taken a "before" picture. Just imagine '80s green and white striped wallpaper, purple morning glories stenciled all the way around the perimeter, and old yellowed linoleum ...
Enjoy your day, friends, and thanks for stopping by. I'd love you to
follow if the urge strikes you. I promise I'll follow back!
